Happy Birthday Caleb

We had a very eventful week leading up to and the week including Caleb's birthday. Since most of us got sick with the stomach flu the week before Caleb's birthday party, we decided to move Caleb's party. It was the best idea so we didn't share our germs and I had more time to recover and still get things ready.

Caleb's birthday was on a Tuesday. We had a good day. Rod was off work, but Leah had to go to school. It was a beautiful day outside. We wanted to wait for Leah to open presents and do the birthday festivities, but one of Caleb's presents was a bow. Since we had a trip to Chuck E. Cheese planned right after we picked Caleb up from school, we knew that it would be too late for Caleb to use his bow when we got home. We let him open one present early. He was excited to get a "real" bow. Rod and Caleb went out and tried it out.

Later, we did go get Leah from school and headed to Chuck E. Cheese. Not my favorite place, but the kids had fun and going early in the middle of the week is the perfect time to go. It wasn't busy and the kids got to do everything over and over.

When we got home, we did cupcakes and ice cream, followed by presents. The rest of the evening was spent playing with the presents. I think Caleb had a great day.

On Sunday, we had Caleb's birthday party. Most of the day Saturday was spent on making the cake. It didn't go as smoothly as planned, since Rod had to make 2 trips to the store for more cake, but in the end, the cake turned out to look mostly like a tractor and round baler.
